QuickTraQ - Solution Overview
AssetGather QuickTraQ is a simple and complete handheld-based RFID enabled
solution that can help speed up the process for inventorying any physical assets.
RFID tags - unlike bar codes, do not need line-of-sight while scanning. RFID technology
enables multiple tags to be read in one scan. All the assets in an entire rack or
a cabinet can be scanned in just a few seconds. These features make RFID advantageous
for use in inventorying - especially when the task needs to be performed more often
and where automation of the process is desired. With RFID it is also easier to find
and physically locate assets, even if they are inside racks or below desks.
QuickTraQ is easy to setup, and requires no complex hardware or software installation.
It is stand-alone, and just works off the handheld reader. It does not need a network
to connect to any server. The QuickTraQ interface is user-friendly and intuitive,
therefore users need not have a technical background for using the application to take inventory scans.
How it Works
The solution includes a portable handheld RFID reader which runs the
AssetGather QuickTraQ application, and 1000 AssetPulse standard RFID tags.
Using the solution is as simple as:
- Affixing an RFID tag to each asset.
- Adding details about each asset including name, serial number and description into QuickTraQ configuration
- Performing scans using the handheld and capturing the data into the easy to read QuickTraQ application
- Search and physically locate assets using QuickTraQ
